CORROSION PROTECTION WITH THIN LAYER PASSIVATION

FÖHLAN is a new green and innovative technology developed in-house to protect zinc die cast parts against wear and corrosion. A salt spray test in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227-NSS has proved the effectiveness of this high-tech process: up to 640 hours of corrosion resistance – at a coating thickness of just 2 µm. Existing parts can also be coated in a FÖHLAN surface, without requiring any design adjustments. Casting and subsequent coating reduce throughput times, freight costs and damage in transit.

With new hot runner technology, zinc die cast parts can be cast without a gating system. Eliminating the gating process results in less air in the cast part. This reduces the porosity of the component. In addition to this quality advantage, hot runner technology can be used to cast geometries that could not be produced in the past through conventional connections.
