Schorndorf moves

City Center Run

On 30 April 2017, wherever you looked on the Schorndorf Marktplatz: Running shoes and colorful running clothes everywhere. For the city center was firmly in the hands of athletes: Almost 1,000 runners were registered for the various distances of the Schorndorf City Center Run, which was being held for the eighth time.

A total of 496 took on the main run – including four people from Föhl: Nikolaos Macherian, Robert Kristo, Massimo and Giuseppe Santoro. The conditions could not have been better for the 8-kilometer route: Sunshine and ideal air temperatures of 21 °C meant the jetlag from the trip to China was almost forgotten. Nikolaos Macherian was the 67th to cross the finish line with a time of 35:53 minutes, making him the fastest of the Föhl runners. The running gene can be seen in his family from a look at the results for the 2-kilometer youth race. Georgios Macherian came 59th.

Alongside the sport, the City Center Run is also a city festival: Families and colleagues celebrated well, enjoyed the sun and met with friends. "Schorndorf moves" really was a hit.
